STANDARD 100 by OEKO_TEX
According to LABEL-ONLINE (www.label-online.de), this is a demanding label that makes a contribution to improvements in the production of safer textiles. In contrast to what the name may suggest, organic source materials are not a requirement for receiving the label. No natural fibres have to be used.
The criteria for awarding the label are developed by independent bodies, meaning the awarding process is transparent. Comprehensive checks are performed regularly. They are primarily carried out by test instutites that are also part of the OEKO-TEX union. These institutes are accredited independent testing facilities. However, as they belong to the labelling union, LABEL-ONLINE is slightly critical of their objectivity.
If a brand awarded the label violates the label's criteria, sanctions are imposed. Consumers can access all important information on the label free of charge.
