First child car seat with temperature regulation: Osann launches the intelligent Klimax series

Osann is writing a new chapter for child car seats: the patented Klimax technology is the first and only one of its kind with automated temperature regulation. The innovative series launches with the Flux Klimax (ECE Group 1/2/3), Marty Klimax (ECE Group 2/3) and Junior Klimax (ECE Group 2/3). The first generation with this exclusive technology will be available from November 2021

Gottmadingen, 02/08/2021. Osann is focusing on genuine innovation with the Klimax series: the special technology provides pleasant ventilation on hot summer days and a cosy, warm seat in winter for little passengers. It is operated from the car’s power supply; with 12 V direct current, there is no risk of electrosmog. The system is activated by an integrated plate that responds to pressure. So when a child sits in the seat, the temperature in the seat body is measured and then automatically regulated. As soon as there is no longer any weight in the seat, the system switches itself off automatically after 30 minutes.

Summer cooling and winter warming

An integrated sensor measures the temperature inside the child car seat. If it is above 30° Celsius, the system is activated and removes the warm air, creating a cooling air circulation effect.

When the sensor measures a temperature of less than 5° Celsius, however, the seat area is automatically heated until the inside of the seat has reached a temperature of 20° Celsius.

Klimax improves safety

Osann’s Klimax technology not only adds value in terms of comfort, but also safety: in frosty outdoor temperatures, the warming function means that children don’t need to wear a thick winter jacket, which often prevents the straps from fitting correctly. If it’s extremely hot in summer, the automatic cooling means that the car windows can remain shut and children aren’t exposed to the wind. There is also another advantage: the new comfortable climate, which even works in extreme outside temperatures, means that young passengers tend to be happier, especially on long journeys. This can help to reduce the potential for distraction for parents and therefore the risk of accidents.

Klimax child car seats – first generation

Osann is bringing its intelligent cooling and heating function to two tried-and-tested models – the Flux Klimax child car seat and the Junior Klimax booster seat: in addition to the optional Isofix fitting method, the Flux Klimax (ECE Group 1/2/3) grows with its little passengers and offers an additional resting position. It also features a removable insert and extra head pillow for an even more comfortable ride and optimum support. The Junior Klimax (ECE Group 2/3) also has alternative Isofix fixation and a large ergonomically shaped seat surface. With the Marty Klimax, Osann is launching a completely new product: the child car seat is very similar in form and functionality to the Flux Klimax, but it can only be used in ECE Group 2 and above, so it does not have an integrated five-point belt system.

‘As the first of its kind, our Klimax series opens up an entirely new chapter in seating comfort for children. With this innovative technology, we are asserting ourselves once again as pioneers in the child car seat sector,” adds Patrick Osann, third-generation Managing Director.

The family-run business Osann, which is based in Gottmadingen and was founded in the 1980s, has evolved into an internationally oriented group of companies for baby and children’s equipment. In addition to developing and manufacturing child seats and pushchairs as well as matching accessories, the Group also owns the specialist retail brand Babyblume, which has two shops in the cities of Singen and Constance.
